Our Current Work:
Citizens for Healthcare Freedom (CHF) is a non-profit grassroots organization. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of our North Carolina community by empowering individuals to make more fully informed healthcare decisions for themselves and their loved ones. Our past efforts have raised public awareness about:
• informed consent in public health policy
• vaccine risks vs. safety
• exemption from mandatory vaccinations
• preventive health alternatives
Currently, CHF is tackling another urgent health freedom cause. The North Carolina Medical Board has targeted for investigation a number of alternative health practitioners. Nationwide, the medical monopoly is attacking practitioners, health food stores, labs and manufacturers of natural and homeopathic remedies. CHF is launching a statewide education campaign to promote access to alternative therapies. We support health freedom legislation in NC.
Right now your freedom to choose the kind of health care you want is in danger. You can change that. Here's what you can do:
• Forward this message to others you know in NC that are concerned about losing alternative healthcare access.
• Send us your current email address to receive future mailings. We will keep you informed on up to the minute progress on what's happening to your rights and report on our efforts to protect and extend them.
• Donate money to our non-profit, tax-deductible organization. Help fund our work to establish the statewide network that will enable us to protect and expand your right to choose the healthcare of your choice.
• Donate time. Contact us for information about how to organize support in your own neighborhood, with our leadership and help. Together, we can create the statewide network necessary to ensure the safety and protection of your right to choose the healthcare modalities you prefer.
• Help our all-volunteer working groups make this happen. Email us to learn the ways you can participate.
We truly need your help! Spread the word! We look forward to working with you.
You can receive legislative updates, alerts and contact lists for both the Senate and House Health & Welfare Committees or ask any questions or receive more information by writing to us today at chf@nc.rr.com.
Our Outreach:
Dear Regional Leaders, Practitioners & Volunteers,
Health freedom in North Carolina is changing and growing and we want to let you know how you can help! Up until now, the active members of Citizens for Healthcare Freedom have consisted of only a few very committed individuals. CHF is implementing a plan for growth that will establish a tightly woven web of committed individuals and holistic health practitioners across the state. CHF Regional Leaders will have a key role to play in this growth! The Coalition for Natural Health in Washington, DC sent Michele Morgan, Ph.D., National Grassroots Organizer & WING Coordinator, to the triangle area to create “WING!”~ Wellness Information & Networking Groups. During her visit, CHF sponsored several outreach and networking events designed to tap into the general public and build a larger group of individuals who are interested in making holistic medicine a household word.
With the larger general core, CHF can increase awareness of the issues related to our group quickly, gather momentum and more effectively implement our goals. Every person in each group will be a leader and a messenger. Regional Leaders will coordinate the efforts of forming each local “ WING!” gathering until the group establishes an effective core group. During “WING!” monthly meetings, practitioners meet together, have lunch, listen to a speaker and support one another.
Additionally, as representatives of CHF, Regional Leaders will announce pertinent health freedom issues and help practitioners mobilize for action when necessary. Please note: the focus of the group will be to support and inform----the CHF agenda will not be the primary focus of the meetings.
Regional Leaders are asked to:
1) Locate a local restaurant that will donate space and provide lunch for the “WING!” group at a reasonable expense.
2) Coordinate the initial “ WING!” event.
3) Advertise “WING!” in local publications to reach the natural healthcare community.
4) Locate and invite prospects.
5) Collect $5 from each person at the meeting, to support additional advertising and ongoing expenses of the group.
Let our web site be your resource. We have setup a Regional Leaders Resource page. There you should find all the info you would need to easily run your local “WING! as well as other local events.
Please let us know what else we can do to help. Also, more regional leaders are sorely needed, so any help in filling these rolls would be appreciated. Once the “ WING!” Groups are up and running we can truly become effective in North Carolina in uniting across the state as non-regulated independent practitioners and consumers of holistic medicine. Please contact me if there are any further questions about “WING!” Let's start an effective New Year for healthcare freedom!
Best,
Susan O'Neil
